Voice User Interface (VUI)

To make learning units as accessible as possible, VUI is included in INDIeOpen version 4.0. VUI allows us to interact with INDIeOpen learning units only by using our voice. This feature can be used by any student, but it is most important for students with reduced mobility.

Bellow, INDIeOpen VUI commands are presented and can also be consulted in the following document Voice User Interface.

Global commands can be used in any part of a learning unit:

• Help: Displays the voice commands that can be used.

• Accessibility: Displays the accessibility menu.

• Start: Scrolls to the start of the page.

• Next: Selects the next voice-controlled widget.

• Previous: Selects the previous voice-controlled widget.

• Scroll down: Scrolls down the page.

• Scroll up: Scrolls up the page.

• Go to number X: Selects voice-controlled widget number X.

• Click: Activates the currently selected voice-controlled widget.

• End: Ends voice recording.
• Close: Closes the open information messages and modal windows.

Bellow there are examples of these commands:

Accepted voice commands for video:

• Play: Plays the video.

• Pause: Pauses the video.

• Stop: Stops the video.

• Maximize: Maximizes the video.

• Minimize: Minimizes the video.

• End: Ends the voice commands to this widget.

Global commands permitted in this widget: Help, Scroll up, Scroll down, and Close.

 

Accepted voice commands for video:

Outside of the tabs:

• Next: Selects the next drop-down element.

• Previous: Selects the previous drop-down element.

• Click: Enters the tab selected.

• Go to number X: Selects drop-down element number X.

• End: Ends the voice commands to this widget.

Inside of the tabs:

• Next: Selects the next voice-controlled widget.
• Previous: Selects the previous voice-controlled widget.
• Click: Activates the current widget to be voice-controlled.
• Go to number X: Selects voice-controlled widget number X.
• Back: Switches to navigation tab mode.

Global commands permitted in this widget: Help, Scroll up, Scroll down, and Close.

 

Accepted commands:

• Next: Selects the next element.
• Previous: Selects the previous element.
• Go to number X: Selects element number X.
• Click: Marks an element to match.
• End: Ends the voice commands to this widget.

In a gamification activity, you can use the following additional commands:

• Check: Sends your answers.
• Reset: Resets the widget.

• Next: Selects the next option.
• Previous: Selects the previous option.
• Check: Checks your answers.
• Go to number X: Selects option number X.
• Move to number [position]: Matches the selected option with the concept whose position is [position].
• End: Ends the voice commands to this widget.

• Check: Checks your answers.

• Click: Changes the status of the current option.

• Stop: Stops the audio associated with the image.
• Pause: Pauses the audio associated with the image.
• Play: Plays the audio associated with the image.
• End: Ends the voice commands to this widget.

• Click: Sctivates the current widget to be voice-controlled.
• Go to number X: Selects voice-controlled widget number X.
• Back: Switches to tab navigation mode.

• Click: Initializes the schema.
